BIOGRAPHY
Carla Pivonski, an award-winning New York City-based photographer, blends fashion, beauty, portraiture, travel, landscape, and nature in black & white and color, her work recognized by over 30 international awards from The Pollux Awards, Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris, IPA International Photography Awards, Moscow Foto Awards, International Color Awards, Black & White Spider Awards, Budapest International Foto Awards, Tokyo International Foto Awards, and the National Association for Women Artists. Her imagery graces exhibitions across New York City, Miami, and international venues including Paris, Milan, Barcelona, Lugano, Moscow, Athens, and Okinawa, with music-inspired books—Soundtrack of Central Park (Bronze/Silver) and Four Seasons of Central Park (Vivaldi-inspired)—projected for completion in 2026. Clients include Fault (UK), Institute (UK), Hacid (ES), Glamour.it (IT), IBM, and Montblanc, with her photography published in Art Forum, ArtWeek, PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris, FotoNostrum, NAWA catalogs, and Miami Art Week Magazine, with her design work featured on NBC and HGTV. Currently, Pivonski explores fine art, mixed media, travel, and nature photography, alongside works in fashion and beauty for publications, exhibitions, and private commissions.
She founded and curates The Black & White Gallery, an online platform based in New York with pop-up exhibitions in Tribeca, New York and participation in Miami Art Week venues, including Aqua Art (2025, Art Basel), Miami Art Week/Photo Miami (2024, Coral Gables Museum and Wynwood), and Miami Art Week/Photo Miami at O Cinema (2023), directing 9 exhibitions and 5 catalogs published in Art Forum and ArtWeek, blending nature, music, fashion, and visual artistry, hosting artist talks for her gallery’s pop-ups, and speaking at venues like O Cinema (2023), with a featured artist interviewed by CBS Miami at Miami Art Week/Photo Miami 2024 and her own Miami Art Week interview in 2023. Pivonski’s practice is shaped by studies in music composition at The Juilliard School, photography at the International Center of Photography, fashion design at Parsons School of Design, and fine arts at The Art Students League of New York.
